Installed with a 10.4.8 media, install was flawless; went as smoothly as Windows Vista. All hardware was detected except m wireless card, which is not supported in Mac-world at all, and I'll need to buy a compatible card. Update to 10.4.9 with a certain someone's SSE3 updater went great as well.

The only issue is a little one: pushing "About this Mac" causes what I can only describe as a crash (I dunno what a crashing Mac looks like). Pushing about causes my screen to fade to black, then fade back in to my desktop, with all the stuff I had open closed. Crash, right? What causes, how to fix?

Other than that, it's been super so far! My slightly outdated Prescott machine with an Intel GMA runs this flawlessly, especially since those late P4s have SSE3! I forsee using this older computer a lot more than my new one in the future.

First thing to try is to install loginwindow 10.4.4 from your install disc. Another thing is your video drivers. What is your video card and what drivers are you using?

OK, I wasn't sure if I should install that since I'm running 10.4.9, not 10.4.4, but I'll go ahead any try it. What exactly does that do?

And I'm running an Intel GMA950, using the driver that was on a certain someone's SSE3 install DVD.
