richandy
Anyone knows if Leopard will support HD or Blu Ray? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65173-hd-blu-ray-support-in-leopard/ Share on other sites
ukp
Assuming you mean movies, as of 9A559 the answer is no. Maybe in the GM or with a 3rd party addon (which I don 't know of any) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65173-hd-blu-ray-support-in-leopard/#findComment-461523 Share on other sites
Ayanami
There's a "High-Def" tab in the DVD Player preferences, but I doubt we'll be playing them out of our Super-Drives. I'm sure if you buy an external drive, nothing will be standing in your way. ukp
The HD tab is for home made HD content. HD-DVD and Bluray movies (on original media) does not work at all. With the xbox360 hd-dvd addon, you can only view the disc contents. nekton
In Akihabara last weekend, I saw Samsung HD-DVD/Blu-ray combo drives (internal) for 37,000 yen (about US$320). The price is really dropping (about 6 months ago, a plain Blu-ray drive was over 80,000 yen) and I would expect Apple to start taking advantage of these multidrives soon so there is no debate over which technology OS X supports.
