The original URL for the video clip doesn't work anymore, but based on the description, I have the same problem as well. It's not all the time, seems to happen after a while, and I can restore the proper focus behaviour by closing/quitting all running apps.

I haven't yet been able to figure out whether it's one app in particular that causes the behaviour.

I've got SteerMouse, MondoMouse, Microsoft Keyboard drivers installed.

Running JaS 10.4.8 upgraded to 10.4.10, with natit dual v0.02.

Any news from your end?

no, sorry. i just live with it, even though it's definately somewhat annoying for it happens now and then that i close the wrong application ;) well, i can't remember if i had the same problem before i upgraded to 10.4.10 but to be honest, i expect the problem lies somewhere within my 'personal' settings / running applications since i tried out a different user profile and couldn't reproduce the problem there.

i just don't feel like setting up a new profile atm ;)

oh, maybe it's just an applications sitting in the top-bar requesting the focus... quitting adium at least saves me a little trouble.

i figured out today that the behaviour happens if I don't have a Finder window open somewhere on my desktop. If I have a finder window open somewhere, focus is fine. As soon as I close all my open finder windows, clicking from the desktop (finder) to any other window cycles focus to a seemingly random other app.

Strange.

actually, in my case it was virtuedesktops that was causing the problem -- after quitting, problem went away...
