Some Tiger features seem to have been removed in Leopard. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

It's no longer possible to send SMS's from the Address Book.

You can't do a comprehensive search in the Finder anymore, that is, it doesn't list everything on the computer.

What about classic support for PPC machines? Did they take it out?

I wonder if it would be possible to take your classic folder and classic.prefpane and move it to Leopard...

And input managers are indeed kaput, right?

Sigh. I love leopard's features, but I prefer tiger's look and I want my Deus Ex, Riven, and Inquisitor...

Not that it affects me on Intel, but they really dropped Classic from PowerPC machines? What would possess them to do that? Some people still need that (believe it or not).

If they need it they can still use Tiger. When an Operating Systems supports an all but dead technologies ten years after the tombstone's been engraved it starts to look like Vista.

I know, I know... Leopard does have the menu bar but I didn't mean look like Vista THAT way.

So, what happens if you try to install classic.prefpane and classic startup (in coreservices) in leopard? Anyone try it?

I tried it on a MBP (I don't have a qualifying PPC Mac to run Leopard). In Tiger and Leopard when trying to launch Classic Startup, it give this alert:"Classic could not find a Mac OS 9 system folder on the startup to use. ...blah blah blah... Select a system folder in System Preferences....

In Tiger it wants to load Classic.prefpane but says "Please contact developer to update the prefpane". Leopard says "...You cannot use this prefpane on a intel based Mac...."
