Pyro7469
OK I have a legit ADC account and I burned the 9A559 DMG image to a DL-DVD and booted it up. I first tried to upgrade from 10.4 but it failed with the error message: "Install Failed Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer The installer could not validate the contents of the 'Essentials' package..." I have a Macbook btw. So I then erased my HD completely and tried again, still got the same error. Please help me out. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64570-leopard-9a559-install-problems/ Share on other sites
DsurioN
Sounds like your image might have gotten corrupt during the burn process or the download process. Try burning it again but at a very low speed, this can sometimes help prevent errors. If that doesn't work, you'll have to re-download the image unless Apple distributes their software through some kind of torrent technology (I don't have an ADC membership). If so, you could start your download again and it could check your file for missing bits and download the corrupted parts again. Otherwise looks like you'll have to redownload... HackerName
Use the Restore method, it's much faster than burning DVDs anyway. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64570-leopard-9a559-install-problems/#findComment-457363 Share on other sites
moonmac
Use the Restore method, it's much faster than burning DVDs anyway. Well, I'm havin' problems with that Restore option as well. I put the .dmg image on the source and the firewire disk on the other and check the Erase Destination. Sometimes the Disk Utility either crashes or it copies "Blocks" and then veryfies and after that it stucks or gives me message that it timed out Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64570-leopard-9a559-install-problems/#findComment-457366 Share on other sites
Colonel
I have had this problem since 527. Restore the install DVD to an external drive, boot the installer from there, and then install it to your MacBook's internal drive.
