diabz
ok, quick question, and i figure since i'm gonna go trial and error until i get something rock solid, i can take my time a bit here. i'm running a 3.0ghz p4, 1gb ram, asrock p4i65g mobo, gffx550 256 agp vga/dvi, seagate sataii ncq 320gb, hp dvd writer, razer mouse and apple keyboard. the question is, which update should I take with my 10.4.8 install? is there anything that 10.4.10 gives hackintosh users? would they even be a use on my system anyway? on my previous installs i've had problems with with random crashes in .9 and broken itunes visualisations in .10. i did had a .8 -> .9 -> .10 install running rock solid, even with big cpu overclocks, except for the aforementioned itunes bug... i physically damaged my hdd with my .10 install after it being perfect for more than three months and had to get it replaced (i refused to pay data recovery costs) so this is why i'm in this mess ;/ thanks in advance guys. zurk
10.4.9 works great on mine with speedstep and sse3. i wouldnt upgrade since speedstep is unsupported on .10 and it runs hotter. ~pcwiz
Theres not much advantage in updating other than application support. Some applications require 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 to run. Update guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=45283 I'm very curious. How did .10 damage your HD? That made me worry about my HD cause I just updated to 10.4.10 a few days ago... diabz
lol... i meant i physically damaged the hard drive that had my .10 install. i'm currently running .9, and i've had a few random crashes, but i'm ironing out my software at the moment, so we'll see how we end up. diabz
ok, this is a time problem unrelated to the UTC time muckaround. i noticed my time going waaay too fast so i decided to time a minute. 1 minute = 1:07 minutes on the hackintosh :/ anyone trolling with a quick fix? ~pcwiz
Maybe the computer is right and your time is wrong If you want precise time, set OS X to get data from the Apple Time server (time.apple.com, I think). diabz
it's not happening anymore.. could be the stable internet access or winding my cpu back to default speed, not sure, and not really fussed about it either ;D oh, forgot to mention, upgrading to a 6600GT day after tomorrow, so we'll see if that affects my random war3 crashes ;D Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64505-tiger-9-or-10/#findComment-462201 Share on other sites
