oSxFr33k
BFG Tech Nvidia 6200 OC ATI Radeon Visiontech X1500 Nvidia FX5200 These are al PCI cards. I am unsure why I don't have an AGP slot? Maybe because the onboard Intel Graphics is AGP? Dell Demention 2400 series SSE2. So I want to know which card is the easiest to get working on 10.4.9 and which will give me better performance. SO both Easy install and Better performance. I had jas 10.4.8 and upgraded via the Koolkal's Combo 10.4.9 and updated the kernell to 8.9.1 from Irc #kernel Channel. I had a broken loginwindow which I fixed but still have a problem with my system profiler closing as soon as it launches? See my prior post on that. From my searching so far it seems everyone is going for th3 6200. Outside from the 7600 or 7600gt etc, but those are harder to find in the stores and I need PCI. ~pcwiz
Don't get the Visiontech X1500 card. Its not fully supported under OS X. The choice is between the 6200 and the FX5200. They are both apparently supported: FX5200 - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36435 6200 - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=57929 I think you're best off with the FX5200 because lots of people have gotten it working. There are instructions in the 6200 thread to get the GeForce 6200 OC working, but no one on the thread has reported any success. I recommend the FX5200. pcwiz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64463-which-is-the-best-graphics-card/#findComment-456448 Share on other sites
