josh256
I just ditched Fusion because I'm addicted to how well Parallels shares the file systems amongst other things. Anyhow, at a no-application idle I'm averaging 12-14% CPU utilization on a new MBP which is ridiculous considering XP is internally idling at ~1% and Fusion averaged <2%... I've removed all devices except network and shared folders, system restore is not running (nor should it matter since the issue here is a single virtual cpu 1% idle is translating to a dual-core 13% hit).. *EDIT: This is on a MacBookPro, not the quad on which I've never noticed/cared about Parallels utilization* Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64461-parallels-3-cpu-utilization/ Share on other sites
josh256
Okay, how about this: Are there any users w/ <2% utilization sustained at an idle? If so, what CPU? wingk1314
^ nope. on my 2.42Ghz C2D it stays roughly around 10% usage when idle too. I too think it's abit bizzare. I've noticed that it's not OS dependent either since the CPU usage was roughly the same when running a retail XP and a stripped down XP.
