davuluri
Hi guys, i started with 7950GX2 - it doesn't work. I purchased another card - 7600GS but 512 mb card. After installation, only blue screen. I removed all video drivers and I can log into system but with only 1200 resolution and system recognises only 256mb. I keep chaning all drivers - only upto blue screen. So, do i have buy another card now or is there any other solution for this problem. my system pref - Q6600 + Bad Axe 2 + 2GB ram, / 24inch DCL/LCD monitor. BJMoose
I'm using a 7600GS 512mb gfx card with a Bad Axe 2 board and it is a great running card. Because it's an nVidia card with over 256mb ram, it needs to have its rom flashed to work properly in osx86. It will still work the same way it always did under windows. Once it's flashed, use Diabolik's Natit Dual .02 installer. Many new OSX86 install disks now allow you to install Natit along with the system. That's all there is to it. Flashing the rom is safe and take less than two minutes. ~pcwiz
I'm not sure, but I think to flash the ROM of a nVidia graphics card, you use a DOS utility called nvflash. Instructions here: http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/nv...6800gtonam.html The instructions are to flash a nVidia 6800 but I think its the same procedure for your card except you use a different BIOS ROM. Please wait for someone like BJMoose to confirm this before trying it. Another note: You need 2 video cards for the flashing procedure. Meaning, you have to have 2 sources for video output. If you have onboard video AND a graphics card, you connect your monitor to the onboard video and then you flash your CARD. If you don't have onboard video and only 1 graphics card, then you need a second PCI card for the flashing process (The second card doesn't have to be good, it can even be a cheap piece of junk. If it lasts you 5 minutes, then you're good to go ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63909-evga-7600gs-512mb-video-card/#findComment-452241 Share on other sites
BJMoose
Yes, AquaMac's site has step by step instructions for flashing and here is a url for the rom installers. You can use any of the 7600GS installers. h--p://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/nvidia512cardrom.html ...and here's the url for Diabolik's installers. The installer will give you on the go instructions of what to do. Once your card is flashed, Natit will allow you to have full access to everything. It's always best to do this from a fresh install because the installer won't undo any of the things you might already have tried. h--p://diabolik1605.com/DHF/index.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63909-evga-7600gs-512mb-video-card/#findComment-452273 Share on other sites
