~pcwiz
I managed to eventually successfully install Uphuck on my ASUS P5ND2-SLI (non deluxe). Specs below in signature. VMware Workstation and Windows are required just for some post-installation procedures. Instructions: Installation Download the Uphuck 10.4.9 1.4iR3 ISO Burn the ISO to a DVD using Nero or other burning software Insert your disc into your DVD drive and reboot the computer Make sure that your BIOS is set to boot from CD first and that you are using a USB Mouse and Keyboard Once the Uphuck DVD boots, choose your language to get to the main screen Go to Utilties >> Disk Utility Choose your drive from the left panel Click the Partition tab Set Partition Scheme to 1 Set format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Give the volume a name Click the Partition/Format/Erase button (Forgot which..) Wait for the partitioning to finish Choose your newly named Mac OS X volume from the left panel Click the Erase tab Click Erase Wait for it to finish, close Disk Utility (Disk Utility >> Close Disk Utility) At the main screen, click Continue Click Continue again Choose the correct destination volume and click Continue Choose the following options in the Installation options screen: * v1.4i Base System Under Patches * loginwindow 10.4.4 * Remove IntelCPUPowerManagement kext [Note: This was required for my Pentium D 830. It may not be required depending on your CPU] Under Drivers >> VGA [choose the right VGA patch for your graphics card] >> System * nForce4 SATA * USB driver * PS/2 driver * Azalia Audio >> Network * Intel Pro 100 VE [ If you have a Deluxe model of the MoBo with Dual Gigabit LAN, you may also have to select a Marvell driver] Click the Install button Wait for it to finish installing but don't boot Mac OS X yet Post Installation: Kernel Restoration Semthex 8.8.1 (required for me) First, boot into your BIOS and disable ALL serial and parallel ports Now boot into Windows Download a copy of Pacifist.zip (http://www.charlessoft.com/Pacifist.zip) Using MagicISO or some other program, create an ISO image containing Pacifist.zip Open VMware Workstation Create a new virtual machine: Memory: [half actual system memory] Hard Disk (SCSI 0:0): Using device [give it access to the hard disk/partition in which OS X is installed on] CD-ROM (IDE 0:0): Using drive [letter of DVD-ROM drive; give it access to your PCs DVD ROM] CD-ROM (IDE 1:0): Using file [add this second virtual CD drive and mount the Pacifist ISO you created earlier] Processors: 1 Boot the VM It should load the Uphuck install from your drive (click inside VM window to activate input) Once loading is complete, insert an install DVD containing the Semthex 8.8.1 kernel (eg. JaS 10.4.8) Copy the mach_kernel from the DVDs root to your Mac OS X Desktop Now open the Pacifist image on the Desktop and unzip the Pacifist.zip file There should now be a Pacifist folder on your Mac OS X Launch Pacifist.app Wait 15 seconds and click the Not Yet button Now, in the installer DVD, find the package that contains System.kext that has the same version as the kernel (check using Get Info dialog). In the JaS DVD, this would be /System/Library/Installation/Packages/10.4.8.intel.pkg OR 10.4.8.amd.pkg Drag the package onto the Pacifist window to open it (it might take a while for the package to load) In the package, navigate to /System/Library/Extensions/ Drag the System.kext file to your Desktop to extract it Wait till it finishes. You should now have System.kext and mach_kernel on your Desktop Open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and type the following commands, pressing enter after each one: sudo -s cp /mach_kernel /mach_kernel.backup cp -R /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext /Backups/ cp -R ~/Desktop/mach_kernel /mach_kernel cp -R ~/Desktop/System.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ Now, open Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities/) Choose your OS X volume from left panel Click Repair Permissions Once its done, close Disk Utility and shut down OS X VM Post Installation: Do this if you get errors related to com.apple.GeForce.kext Once again, boot the VM you created earlier In OS X, navigate to /System/Library/Extensions Drag the following kexts to the Trash: Note: You will have to authenticate yourself and type in your admin password at some point GeForce.kext GeForce2MXGLDriver.bundle GeForce3GLDriver.bundle GeForceFXGLDriver.bundle GeForceGA.plugin GeForceVADriver.bundle NVDAN10Hal.kext NVDAN20Hal.kext NVDAN30Hal.kext NVDAN40Hal.kext NVDAResman.kext Shut down the OS X VM Now reboot and try booting natively into OS X (first set the BIOS to boot from your OS X drive first) Guide by PCWIZ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63466-how-to-osx86-on-asus-p5nd2-sli/ Share on other sites

~pcwiz
Hey Fix Miller, Nice guide you wrote there. But I've moved on to my new system (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P) and I won't be doing any more work on the P5ND2 unless its by user request But great work and keep going!
