I am trying to boot the Mac OSx86 uphuck 10.4.9 on VMware however I get to the part to select a drive and there is never one there. I preallocated the disc space but I can't get it to register with the OS. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. THANKS!

I fully installed Mac OS X using VMware then it told me to restart and I did. However now when I try to run it all I get is a black screen with a _ in white at the top. I have left it up for a while and it never loads. What is the problem?

Hello,

i have the same problem, would be glad if someone can help.

i´ve rebooted with the dvd (uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i_r3.iso) and started the disk utility (Utilities/Disk Utility...) and started the Verify Disk Permissions, all seems to be OK.

I also tried to Repair Disk at the end this message appears: 1 HFS volume checked No repairs were necessary.

The Information tap says the disk is Apple_HFS and bootable. 79,202 files and 22,125 folders on it.

So i think the installation is OK, but why i only get a cursor in the left corner?

Hope someone can help.

Greetings

Loki

same here... i got rid of it and downloaded a 10.4.7 file. It was preinstalled, and i have networking and sound so its ok. But i just use it for fun, cause i have a ibook lol. I hear that the uphuck is really slow when you get it installed and running though....

nevermind ... looks like I have it at about 39% installed right now ... if this works as flawlessly as it is suppose to with this hardware I am going to get rid of XP ... and stop running this is VMware

Ummmm, you are aware that VMWare emulates it's hardware? Any OS loaded on it knows nothing of the actual hardware your PC has, just cause you get it to work on VMWare does not mean that it will work natively on your PC.

Hello,

i´m searching for a solution to run osx on a vmware session, i don´t need a high performance system, i only use it to make some docus for some users. Can some one send me a link to a download, were i can find a finished vm session?

Greetings

Yes I am aware that it is emulating. After I mess around with it in VMware I am installing a partition on the ol'HD to see how things work out. I just need to free up some space, because right now I have 9 gig of a 250 ... so I think I am going to go out and by a TB.

I actually didn't install it using VMware. I got an external drive, installed OS X natively on it and then booted using the drive from within VMware. No point using VMware to run it for me though, now that I can get it running native.

Uphuck 1.4iR3Same here, installed on VMWare 6.0 and stuck at "_" and a black screen after reboot.Using ABIT IP35 (Intel P35 chipset)

I actually didn't install it using VMware.
If you didn't install the Uphuck 1.4iR3 on VMware, how can you claim "Uphuck 1.4iR3 on VMware was a LOT faster for me compared to JaS 10.4.8 on VMware."? :)

Yeah, try installing NATIVE on a drive/partition and then you can boot it using VMware. But I don't see why thats any use booting from VMware other than for troubleshooting when you could just boot native, as you have already installed native.
