[idkfa]
Hi there, I'm trying different things to get Missing Sync for Windows Mobile to run, but I've not yet been successful. As it seems, it's another issue based on AppleSMBIOS.kext. So my question is, what do I need to change inside the sources you can download from Apple to get it up and running on my Hackintosh? Any specific functions I need comment out or anything? [idkfa] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63101-compiling-applesmbioskext/ Share on other sites

annunaki
I've installed the AppleSMBIOS.kext and it immediately fixed the sync problem with Missing Sync. If you haven't already done so, just follow these instructions: Download this file AppleSMBIOS.kext.zip Extract AppleSMBIOS.kext into /System/Library/Extensions (you must replace the old one) Open the Terminal, cd into /System/Library, remove the files with : sudo rm Extensions.* Repair permissions on your disk. Reboot. Enjoy. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63101-compiling-applesmbioskext/#findComment-454586 Share on other sites
Apophis
I was trying to install Missing Sync for Palm but it's installer would let me saying I need at least 10.49 or above; I actually have 10.4.10 and the latest AppleSMBIOS! I then just used Pacifist and it forced the install and MS now works perfect. Handy app. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63101-compiling-applesmbioskext/#findComment-454670 Share on other sites
[idkfa]
Does not work for me with Missing Sync 3.02. What version are you using? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63101-compiling-applesmbioskext/#findComment-456153 Share on other sites
annunaki
Version 2.5.1 However, I encountered a strange side effect after loading the new kext. When I select "About this Mac" then select "more info" My Hardware selection shows an error. "There was an error while gathering this information." No biggie. It doesn't really seem to be affecting anything else. Supposedly this kext update will also allow you to get CS3 programs working, but I have not tried it yet. [idkfa]
Ok, I tried various AppleSMBIOS.kext packages, as well as the one posted in here, but nothing changed, still the same old problem. At the moment I'm using Missing Sync 2.5.2, as I couldn't find 2.5.1 anywhere. Any ideas?
