    AppleHDA for Realtek ALC1220 - 10.12.3 -

In IORegistryExplorer, I have revision-id <00 00 00 00>. My board is a GA-Z270X-UD5. Hope that helps. The kext is also not working for me. If needed, I can provide a codec dump tomorrow.
  4. Hi everyone, I have trouble building a Fusion Drive. The error I am getting is "LVG on disk0s2+disk2s2 is damaged and mounted read-only", a message about fsck_cs finishing with status 0x04 and an error "LVG MLV is readonly because metadata is not writable". My current setup: GA-EP45-DS3 Samsung 840 Evo 250GB + Western Digital WD20EARS-00MVWB0 (2TB) WD 750GB drive I am currently booting from and is to be replaced by the fusion drive All drives connected to the internal sata Mavericks 10.9 I am getting the above error message in the Mavericks Installer as well as in Mavericks installed on the 750GB drive. Do you have any suggestions? Greetings [idkfa]
  5. Hi everyone, I'm a long-time reader and have gotten quite a bit of knowledge by reading InsanelyMac, so first thank you everyone for posts! After my HD and my backup HD both broke down on the same day, I had to recreate my Lion installation from scratch. Everything is working so far, but I'm currently puzzled about the CPU power management. My hardware: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 with F10e bios Intel Q9650 (not overclocked or anything) eVGA nVidia GTX 560 1GB My system identifier is MacPro4,1 to get AppleGraphicsPowerManagement to work. Therefore, I can't really switch down to the more correct MacPro3,1. My CPU temperatures are quite high; in Lion (10.7.4 right now) they are about 10°C higher than what I get in Windows (see attached screenshots). I see the voltage in Windows is lower, however I am unsure whether that small difference will yield in 10°C. I've experimented with various DSDT patches I found, however either they didn't seem to work or they fixed the CPU's multiplier at 6 (where it is supposed to change between 6 and 9). About the screenshots: hwmonitor.png shows temperatures without any GeneratePStates/GenerateCStates in boot.plist; hwmonitor2.png with all settings enabled. Currently, my settings are: <key>Boot Graphics</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2)</string> <key>EnableC2State</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EnableC3State</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EnableC4State</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string></string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>npci=0x2000 darkwake=0</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>LoginToLion</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> Attached is my DSDT (with all the fixes I'm using now minus P-States/C-States, as I don't know what to put there right now. Btw, if you have any other suggestions/fixes about my DSDT not related to CPU power management, feel free to post them, too Thank you in advance [idkfa] DSDT.txt

Nvidia GTX 560 Ti & Lion...

Thanks for your reply, NotMeAgain. However, I have a question. What do you mean with: Does this happen on the first boot with GTX 560 TI only or does it happen at every reboot?
  7. Thanks for your answer. I'm currently not using any Speedstep at all; no DSDT fixes and even removed AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext. The solutions you suggested have sped up my SATA/USB (which is nice, thank you ), but not helped with my problem. I have another idea: Maybe it is related to my graphics card (9800GT, 512MB), as the GUI hangs for about half a second. I can very nicely check this playing Quinn. There is no sound stuttering (listening to iTunes in background). I have already tried using my Leopard's device-properties in boot.plist, and enabling/disabling Netkas' PC-EFI 10.5 GraphicsBuiltin-Feature. Any further ideas? Edit: I think I've found the problem.. oldnapalm's fakesmc. ATM I'm using Netkas' fakesmc and everything is smooth.
  8. Thanks for your answer I've never used that Logitech control centre, as I've bought a license of USB Overdrive. However, disabling it did not change anything, so I did not mention that. I'll try a few things tomorrow like the basic DSDT and running the 32bit kernel, and will post my solution if I succeed. Just thought maybe you or someone else did also experience this problem and could give me a hint.
  9. Thanks for the superb guide, blackosx (I only needed it to create a USB-Stick with SL, but anyway, great work nevertheless!) I have a small problem on my SL hackintosh, posting here because I have nearly the same mainboard and I also did a lot things to my DSDT you are describing: My mouse "stutters" or hangs from time to time, just for about half a second. The occurence of this phenomen is pretty random, but maybe it has something to with disk access (not sure about that, just a guess). My hardware: Q9650 GA-EP45-DS3 (no R/L/whatever), Bios F9 Logitech MX518 (worked fine in L, works fine in Vista) using SL 64bit Kernel DSDT hacks used: - Speedstep (but temporarily disabled because of this problem; did not change anything) - Audio - USB ports to appear as internal/Apple - CMOS reset, of course - RTC (because I was lazy and used my old L dsdt) - ICH10 appear as internal/Apple Also using Netkas' PC-EFI 10.5 with Ethernet and GFX built-in = y options. Any idea?
  10. I'm tempted to try it, but I do not have the time at the moment So I second the question: Anyone tried SL on this board? What are your experiences?

What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

So you know there is no driver that supports hd4800 series, but you are asking if there is one?

Cool, thank you. Must have missed that thread while searching

Hackintosh to appear as Mac Pro?

Ah sorry, forget to mention: I installed from retail Leopard DVD using boot-132 boot disc.
  14. Hi, I'm trying to get my Hackintosh identified as a MacPro3,1. I'm currently running pc_efi v9 with SMBIOSResolver 1.0.7, but I've tried also AppleSMBIOSEFI. My problem is the following: Whatever I try, "model identification" in System Profiler always only shows "EP45-DS3", but I want it to read MacPro3,1. After loading the SMBIOSResolver.kext, I can see how it changes my serial number and bootrom version, but not the identification. What am I doing wrong? Please help me! OSX 10.5.6 9g55 Gigabyte EP45-DS3 Core 2 Duo E6420 pc_efi v9 (also tried chameleon 1.0.12) Regards, [idkfa]
  15. On 10.5.6, I just commented out the framework from the install script, then ran it. Everything perfect
