stlava
I tried reading the other threads but still no help. I used the chain0 file and added C:\chain0="Mac OS X" to boot.ini and the option for OSX shows up during boot but when I select it it just brings me back to the original OS pick screen. [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] C:\chain0="Mac OS X" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6308-dual-boot/ Share on other sites

thrunner
it just brings me back to the original OS pick screenThe chain0 method worked well for most systems under 10.4.1 but for some reason no longer works with 10.4.3 unless you press the F8 key really fast (search for F8 in this forum or read this: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?s=...ndpost&p=32941).Alternatively, just use Acronis OS selector : http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?s=...indpost&p=35723 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6308-dual-boot/#findComment-39376 Share on other sites
macgirl
The F8 thing works once the Darwin BootLoader is running. I installed 10.4.3 in my HD, I didn't modify a thing on the HD that hold the chain0 and it still works. What I noticed is if you install 10.4.3 over a partition of 10.4.1 it wont boot unless you format/partition again with 10.4.3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6308-dual-boot/#findComment-39484 Share on other sites
