Spunky
i wanted to try installing a windows on my mac. But Bootcamp doesnt recognize my windows installation CD. I downloaded "Microsoft.Windows.XP.Professional.Corporate.SP2.Integrated.January.2007". I burned the installation on a simple blank CD. There shouldnt be any problems with the CD because it worked for other people. http://img516.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture1lo9.png Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63038-problem-with-windows-disk/ Share on other sites
hecker
I tried that CD (from the little demon, right?) and it didn't work for me either. I can recommend the "Windows Performance Edition" CD. It is stripped of most MS bologni (except the OS itself, he he) and works like a charm. Cheers, hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63038-problem-with-windows-disk/#findComment-446449 Share on other sites

Onetrack
My fav release, lastxp V16 does not work in bootcamp at all, because it has some sort of text boot loader that bootcamp cant identify - however, much like the performance edition, look for tinyxp 6 by experience - it is really quite good and completely stripped down of the bloat. Spunky
I downloaded "Windows XP Performance Edition July 2007 - English" which is ~227mb. I burned the installation on a blank cd. Still no good. Doesnt recognize. P.S. When i burn the installation do i have to burn the .iso file ? or the installation with .exe etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63038-problem-with-windows-disk/#findComment-446811 Share on other sites
hecker
You need to burn the disc FROM the iso file, but no the iso file itself (if you use toast, then you need to select COPY->Image File, and then select your image ISO). You should be able to read the CD contents after it's done. Can you explain what you did to burn the file? hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63038-problem-with-windows-disk/#findComment-446870 Share on other sites
