DrSupachicken
Heya, Both these boards seem to be 100% compatable and they both seem to work well. But what would you guys recommed for a Q6600 workstation? I'm going to want to build it to the max as it will be used as a node for Logic Pro off a Macbook Pro. Planning to get; Q6600 GO Stepping 7600GT 256MB - Dual Screen setup. 4GB DDR800MHz So what board do you guys recommend? I want the fastest performance possible. Cheers. olofd
I recommend a P35-DS3. 1. Gigabyte makes great boards, and can often overclock higher. 2. The silent pipes works great and you'll have the coolest board. 3. the P35 makes the board future compatible. 4. the p35 chip is more power efficient, overclockfriendly and more stble. The best board for a q6600 and osx86 is GA-P35-DQ6 if you'll go with that board and processor and some top mem-sticks you can easly get it to run stable at 3.6 ghz on all four cores. (On stock cooling) The board is designed for four cores. Everything wokes with osx86 on this board to, inc. sound, net, sata, firewire, usb, everything.
