dutchiee (=
Hey i have been reading many topics and threads about the P35 chipset and how osx works with it . I was due in for an upgrade so i decided to buy the Asus P5KC motherboard, it has the P35 chipset, ALC883 audio.. attisnic gigabit lan (have a spare RTL8139 lying around) and yeah. I have used my Uphuck and Jas dvd images for my other installation, but neither like my new computer . What happens is i insert either the Uphuck 1.3 OSX 10.4.9 dvd or JaS 10.4.8 and boot it with -v, and it will first load the USB.. then it will say caused wake event, then it will load firewire.. then it hangd and prints wiaiting for root device. So i disabled my firewire on my motherboard, and boom it worked only this time freezing @ the USB. so i disabled USB2.0 and then it started working. Now thing is i need USB 2.0 so is there anyway around it? btw i have the 0705 bios revision, ROM Modded 7950GT 512mb and 3gb ram. If i boot it without USB 2.0 it gets to the installer and everything loads. I read that for P35 chipsets and Sata drives, u must set the sata drives to ahci for osx to be able to see them. i searched through the bios many times but never found out how to do this. Could someone please explain to me how ? or is there an easier way for P35 chipsets that im not realising ? i would love to hax osx running, as it never quite worked on my amd 4200+. bubone
Sorry, But i did buy already, as upgrade. I have IDE HD and DVD, cannot imagine how difficult was to install, on a very short IDE cable. OSX86 install DVD will not boot for me, always a message saying boot file apple.com. bla bla not found. How did you manage to install? What DVD and what HD you have? It would load but didnt like my USB or firewire.. then once it stopped complaining about them.. i had tonenz of IOATA error.. then just system waiting for root. I never got it to boot.
