Bigbob6383
Hi, I just installed MacOSX 10.4.7 on my laptop with no problems, everything going great! YAY! But, no...stupid me, I forgot to install a multi-booting program (preferably Acronis OS Selector) before formatting and installing!!!! Now whenever I boot my computer it goes straight to that Darwin program that quickly boots straight to that white apple screen. I want to go back to my WinXP partition, but everything I try ends up not working. Any program suggestions or anything to help me boot back to my Windows XP partition? Any help is appreciated. Oh, and I am willing to destroy my new MacOSX partition, but hopefully no others!!! gizmoarena
Press F8 just before the gray apple logo appears, select the Windows partition and press enter ... your windows starts booting right away. I found it the easiest way to dual boot. no 3rd party boot loader is needed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61540-dual-booting-problems/#findComment-436427 Share on other sites

mitch_de
Other Question this darwin boot manger: My OS X is on an extra HD. It shows up all OS X partitions on that OS X disk. Works well. Is it possible to "tell" the darwin bootmanager the existing WIN XP HD to boot from ? Are there any config files ? By default my pc-mac starts from the OS X HD (no keys pressed). If i want to start WIN HD , i press very early F8 and select WIN HD in the BIOS HD select screen.
