DrSupachicken
Heya Guys, I picked up a Miglia TVMini Express unit the other day to watch HDTV on. I picked up dedicated HDTV ariel and i'm getting 100% signal strength and quality into the software but the playback of HD signal is very poor! When I select the standard definition channels they play back fine, but HD playback is very poor choppy and so forth. In activity monitor it says that the software application is using 50% of the CPU but that still shouldn't make it do it should it? Any help woul dbe appreciated! I'm using the system that is listed in my specs. CHeers. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61446-poor-hdtv-playback/ Share on other sites

phattyboombatty
You know what this appears to be on my Hackintosh, is a USB 2.0 problem. I get throughput on all of my USB devices, but with my Hauppauge ATSC device, the data comes through poorly. I know it's not my video card because playback of all movies and recorded TV look fine. I have tested this with my MacBook Pro, and everything comes in perfectly. The signal is strong and I have an external HDTV antenna. I've tried the PCGen kext to no avail.
