DrSupachicken
Heya, Pretty much as the title suggests I want to connect from my digital out into my home theatre receiver, but I just want to know what application I need to use to get full 5.1/DTS/AC3 playback? Cheers. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60768-dvd-playback-with-51dtsac3-support/ Share on other sites

IM-11
Any news here? My OSX recognize the digital audio output, and if I play a movie which includes AC3 or DTS 5.1 audio from my hdd with an app like Plex or XBMC I get real digital surround sound. The problem is, if I want to play a DVD on the go with dvdplayer.app, it doesn't recognize the digital audio and doesn't let me change the audio output device in the settings. Is anybody here who knows how to tweak the settingsfile of dvdplayer.app to pass AC3 or DTS through the digital out?
