Paladine
I'm trying to dual boot XP and Marklar-Tiger-Deadmoo.iso but I keep getting the 'chain booting error' I've done: create partition primary size=6660 id=af dd if=Marklar-Tiger-Deadmoo.iso of=\\?\Device\Harddisk0\Partition2 bs=512 skip=63 dd if=Marklar-Tiger-Deadmoo.iso of=\\?\Device\HarddiskVolume2 bs=32256 skip=1 --progress chain0 is in C:\ boot.ini [boot loader]timeout=5 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /FASTDETECT /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /BOOTLOGO C:\chain0="Mac OS x86" With this I get the 'chain booting error' If I try to set the partition2 to active, I get a "Missing Operating System" error Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6074-chain-booting-error/ Share on other sites
Mac Pwns
Hey, yeah, it's weird. My previous OSX86 system worked like this, but now it doesn't? Any help? edit :: i think I have a little troubleshooting for you, did you use bs 32256 and skip1 in your DD command? If you didn't , try again, and chain0 might work ! I am doing that now, and hoping it will work in 5 mins. ima da pope!
