Dear All,

Ok, I have Acer Aspire 3680 with Atheros AR5BXB63. I think this chipset is new, however I can't find it at Atheros website. Very wierd. When I'm using Windows XP Pro, it recognized as Atheros AR5007EG (the driver come with the resource DVD - WinXP & Vista). It works perfectly in windows. However, when I'm using linux - specifically Fedora 7, it is recognized as AR5006EG, and I couln't use it, even when madwifi is installed. I said I have Atheros AR5BXB63 because at the bottom of my laptop, there's a sticker that said so.

Is anybody have the same chipset? How about those who have AR5006EG? What is your chipset?

I heard AR5006EG is now working in Mac OS X with kext file from Airport Extreme update.

I've got a AR5006EG that works under Linux using NDISWRAPPER. No luck with the kext given. Is there any way that I could port Ndiswrapper to Mac by recompiling with XCode? or is that completely crazy. I come from a programming background but know next to nothing about writing drivers.

Hi,

Try go to this URL. It look like they have the solution. I can't try it because I has brick my card. Don't worry, I brick my card after I tried to change device id of that card in the EEPROM & it has nothing to do with that guide. :)

Good luck. :)
