Hi there,

I just installed the Diabolik ATIX1000 drivers but still not showing quartz extreme? It said to edit the ATI X1800 KTEXT in the "playlist" but I have no idea how to do this. Does anyone out there know how to get this working? Trying to instal Final Cut Studio but keeps on asking me for a Quartz Extreme card.

BTW, thanks Moose for your reply.

Any help would greatly be appreciated,

on your Hard Disk go to the System Directory and then to the Directory Extensions

there you can find the .kext file

open with an good editor(i use textmate) the part of the file you have to find is the info.plist inside of the file you have to insert the id of you vendor and the id of your card

you can find the informations about your card under "about the mac" "more informations" the you look for graphic card

good luck

From your opening comment, it doesn't appear that you installed the kext I mentioned. Go to Diabolik's helpful files page at: h--p://diabolik1605.com/DHF/index.html, navigate to the ati page and download the installer for NatitX1800. That's not the same as ATIX1000. Since you've already altered things with other kexts, unless you've kept detailed notes so you undo what you've done, it's probably best to re-install OSX86.

BTW, you should really put a signature together that has your system specs in it. My suggestions could be useless depending on whether your gfx card is agp, pci-e, or 512mb...all of which require other solutions.

Thanks Moose,

I just installed Natix1800 and altered the ktext file but still no QE/CI.

This is what I have:

<key>IOPCIMatch</key>

<string>0x1002 0x7100</string>

In the <string> I have vendor ID (0x1002) and the device ID (0x7100)

Still no QE/CI. Am I entering it in the wrong ATIRadeonX1000.ktext?

Please help, I'm at a loss.

My specs are:

Intel Pentium D805

2 gig ram

Asus P5WDH Motherboard

ATI X1800 XT card

Thanks again for all your help,

Miro30

I don't have this card and if installing from scratch with an ATI brand name, I'm guessing you shouldn't have to do any editing of anything. But if you are editing, your text should read more like:

<key>IOPCIMatch</key>

<string>0x71001002</string>

Thanks Moose,

But still not working! Not sure what to do now. Does Diabolik know an answer to this? Is there anyone out there with my card??? Should I buy another card?

Thanks again everyone,

Miro30

Nope, i have X1800XT it works perfectly. I use the X1x00 Natit package from the Jas 10.4.8 DVD. For me it works better than other X1800 packages because i get better frame rates, although both enable QE/CI. I didnt have to edit kexts at all.
