DrSupachicken
Hi Guys, ProTools is a real pig! I had it working perfectly on 10.4.10 and now all of a sudden with no changes to my system it has decided that it doesn't want to work! I have done all the latest upgrades but nothing still? It was working and just decided to stop. It is really annoying because I need to open session files, looks like I might be buying a copy of Logic! Any help would be greately appreciated. dprice1801
This happened to me and a friend of mine running intel iMacs with 10.4.10. We both ran the auto update and downloaded and installed all available updates and it fixed the problem. Could be coinicidence, but it worked identically for both of us. good luck. chasofire
it could be the prebinding issue that is a known issue at digidesign: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid...mp;itemid=22904 when it doesn't work, does it bounce one or two times in the dock and then quit? That's what happens to me and I think that is the prebinding issue. My workaround on my hackintosh and my MacBookPro is to logout and then log back in right before I want to launch ProTools, even after a restart. It usually works, sometimes I have to hit the icon in the dock 2 or 3 times. Tested using 10.4.10 and PT 7.3.1 (official release, not any of the cs release candidates) and a digi002
DrSupachicken
Awesome post chasofire! Thanks heapds aye. I will definitely fiddle around with this a bit more. Every other audio program works a treat but ProTools just gets a bit silly some times! I'm about to a purchase a Macbook Pro and build a quad-core hackintosh really considering running Logic Pro on it. Cheers.
DrSupachicken
I went into ~/Library/Preferences and deleted the ProTools 7 file not the DAE's though and it fires up sweet now. Hope this helps you guys.
thegodfaza
When ever I have this problem I unplug the ProTools firewire cable and plug it back in. Then it works fine.
