  1. How to make your own release?

Awesome, I passed over "The Genius Bar" because it seemed more like tech support (which I this is, but I'm trying to make something instead of fixing). Also, if anybody is running Leopard or 10.4.11 and is trying to build Xar from source, use 1.5.1 instead of 1.5.2, it won't build using the latest version of Xcode. http://code.google.com/p/xar/issues/detail?id=51
  2. How to make your own release?

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciate it.
  3. I hope this is in the proper forum, if not, mods: please move (couldn't find anywhere better) I'd really like to make my own "Release" like kalyway or iATKOS, what are some good resources? Mostly, I'd like to use it for reinstalling my own OS (with proper drivers and Apps and such), but I'd also like to add my own apps to the utilities menu so I can fix some stuff directly from the installer (in addition to disk utility and the like). I'd be happy to release it in the end for all the Bad Axe 2/Radeon HD owners. I'm not expecting a long "How To" (although that would be great), but I'd really like a link to some "How Tos". I do have a lot of experience with OS X and terminal, but I don't really know how to poke around the installs. Thanks in advance.
  4. Does sleep work on Radeon HD 3870?

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it
  5. Does sleep work on Radeon HD 3870?

Like the title says, does sleep work on the Radeon HD 3870??? Literally looking for a simple yes or no. Thanks so much
  6. I got this error when attempting an install from a SATA DVD drive on my Bad Axe 2 board. It was resolved when I tried a PATA DVD drive. So, I would try the opposite of what I did, install from a SATA DVD or USB DVD.
  7. So I built my friend a hackintosh and it just so happened he had a really easy to work with motherboard (Intel Bad Axe 2 975x) and I got everything to install perfectly (except 5.1 sound, but I'm happy with stereo). I even tested my own graphics card and got it to work with everything (x1800xt, dual dvi, QE/CI). So, I'm looking at making myself a hackintosh to compliment my MacBook Pro. I have most of the hardware, but it doesn't seem as if my mobo will be very compatible (its an Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus nforce 650i). Rather than trying to fret over trying to get it to work, I'd rather just upgrade, and, instead of "upgrading" to last year's tech (975x), I'd like to get this year's tech (P35). But, I haven't seen a P35 that is as compatible as the Bad Axe 2. Are there recommendations? I saw some threads for the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P, but I can't seem to find the threads anymore. How well is this board working? The only P35 on the HCL is the P35-DS3R, but not too much info. What about any of the Asus boards? What about another known compatible board with a different chipset? My price limit is about $250, but I'd like to spend less. Here's my must-have list: 1394 gigabit ethernet IDE (for HDDs, not DVD, or even the bootable HD, I have sata and pata HDDs) Sound (would be nice, but not really a must have) Mobo to be paired up with: Core 2 duo e6300 Radeon X1800XT 512 2x1GB g.skill DDR2-800 SATA dvd, SATA and PATA HDDs Thanks in advance
  8. Q6600 for sure, if you want the clock speed you can overclock with your very overclockable board. But, both Logic 7 and 8 support 4 cores; it will allow you to use more effects and more tracks.
  9. Converting AVI's To DVD's

there's a few different ways to do it. Coming from a mac perspective, you could install Quicktime Pro and make sure you have the avi's codec (xvid, divx, etc) installed for quicktime, install the quicktime mpeg 2 component and then export the mpeg2s. If you have an recent ATi video card, you could try using the converter built into the catalyst control center. It works pretty well on my X18000XT. Not sure what else on the windows side, but hope that helps.
  10. en0 FCP fix not working....

Thanks, wish I would have known when I just did my reinstall. Rather than try to mess with it I think I might reinstall again, but I'm not really in a spot to do that right now. If anybody cares, I'll post how it goes on Sunday or next Monday.
  11. en0 FCP fix not working....

legitimate question even though it sounds sarcastic: am I really reading all these posts incorrectly? What am I not understanding? I'd really like to get FCStudio to work, I even have a legit license (purchased originally for my MacBook Pro but I wanted some quad-core goodness without FB-DIMMs and two processors) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=48666 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=61177 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=56246 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=56215 thanks
  12. en0 FCP fix not working....

I've tried doing the en0 fix for FCP and compressor, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I run "sudo vi /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist" from terminal and change the adapter from en2 to en0 and the other value from 1 to 0. The problem is that, even after a reboot, the network adapter still shows up as en2. What might fix that? OSx86 noob, OSX veteren. This is my last issue (dual displays, QE/CI, audio and everything I think I need works, just this little hangup) Thanks. uphuck 10.4.9 installer, with 10.4.10 update, 8.10.1 kernel Q6600 Intel Bad Axe 2 2GB g.skill DDR2 800 XFX 7600GS SATA HDD and ODD any other info needed?
  13. ProTools LE won't launch.

it could be the prebinding issue that is a known issue at digidesign: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid...mp;itemid=22904 when it doesn't work, does it bounce one or two times in the dock and then quit? That's what happens to me and I think that is the prebinding issue. My workaround on my hackintosh and my MacBookPro is to logout and then log back in right before I want to launch ProTools, even after a restart. It usually works, sometimes I have to hit the icon in the dock 2 or 3 times. Tested using 10.4.10 and PT 7.3.1 (official release, not any of the cs release candidates) and a digi002
