Hey All,

Does anyone know if Intel's "santa rosa" is supported on any Tiger Hakintoshhhh.

I managed to install 10.4.9.on my HP Compaq 6710b, but nothing works.

No sound, wifi, network, only basic 3:4 video, etc.

Video is x3100 from Intel. Not sure what the sound is, but I think it is ADI SoundMax.

Any hints are welcome.

Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0Ghz 4MB cache 800Mhz FSB

Mobile Intel 965GM Express Chipset

1024MB DDR2-667 SO-Dimm

160GB SATA 5400rpm HDD

DVD+-RW SuperMulti Double Layer writer

15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050)

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 up to 384MB shared graphics

Intel 802.11 a/b/g Wireless LAN (ipw3945)

Bluetooth

56k modem

10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN

Fingerprint reader & TPM Cheers!

Runs okay on my DV2530ea, X3100 graphics only running at 1024x 768 though.

As long as you select the right patches and drivers it should work, I have sound and vision (Conexant sound Intel Video), bluetooth and lan, fingerprint reader obviously not but if you install the sped step parts it should all be reasonably okay.

Things that arent working are wireless and webcam, but I have only had it on for a couple of hours so I havent really had a chance to play yet.

Sorry. Actually video works, but as chrisjasper said only at 1024x768. I would love to have the whole screen used(wide screen).

Probably my NIC is different from DV2530ea. It does not work at all. My one is Broadcom.

Wireless is known not to work with most Tiger hackies.

I am downloading 10.4.10 update right now, hoping it may have kexts for my HW specs.

Thanks for the input chrisjasper :-}

Unfortunately nothing (almost) works! I gave it up and installed Kubuntu (everything works but the TPM).

Spend a week searching for drivers and help, but NOPE! Nothing.

I am going to wait for the Leopard Hackintosh release. Hopefully we will have more HW supported.

From now on I am going to work on getting the 6710b working as well.

What I encountered with Uphuck 10.4.8 so far is pretty much the same as the others have.

Pretty much the only thing that's working properly so far is Bluetooth and all the USB devices which can easily be switched on and off using the WLAN button of the laptop.

The GPU (X3100) is not supported in 10.4. and therefore I am not going to make any attempts in that direction. However there is a full driver available in Leopard that as of right now seems only to be working on external screens (haven't tried yet).

From what i know the chipset of the network card is a Broadcom 57x but I haven't been able to get it to work yet.

The Wireless LAN (3945) is not at all supported (right now) and replacing it by a functioning card is only possible when flashing the BIOS.

The fingerprint sensor is located as USB device, but obviously not working.

So far ...

x3100 might work OK with the latest update from Apple. I am curently waiting for the iATKOS DVD release (hopefully this weekend). The 3945 driver from jalavoui is getting closer, but still can be considered working. NIC BCM578

, I have tried several bcm57xx kext - nothing works. Got some hope though.

Sound - did not test it, but I don't think it's working ??? (gut's feeling :-]). All USB works fine. CPU and sata is OK with 10.5.

Will post next week the results with Uphuck iATKOS Leopard.

For me the most urgent fix is x3100 and BCM 5787.

Cheers!

I do now...

dual boot with Leo & vista.. on compaq 6710b

Now this is my situation:

- X3100 full working on external display, VGA mode on internal

- audio, i'm looking for solution now...

- Power management work, must change PowerManagement.bundle

- Wifi (now works with external USB Ralink eth, i'll try a soon driver from jalavoui for 3045)

The sisytem works well on 10.5.1, efi patch, and original vanilla kernel.

For installation of Leo u must have a working network adapter...

@mitro:

The internal display doesn't work even with the 10.5.1 update? Have you tried the solutions proposed on the board concerning device ids and removing the framebuffer?

Did you get the broadcom ethernet adapter to work?

I am kind of stuck with that at the moment, because I can't update to 10.5.1 without a working network adapter - thus making it useless as the X3100 does not work with the onboard Leopard drivers...

For me works..!!!

Now i'm write to you from a Compaq 6710b on 10.5.1, Efi 5.2, x3100 full work on internal video.

After 2 day of hard work... :D

For 10.5.1 and for toh too, you need an external usb wifi configured, i'll do in this way:

-- Start from DVD toh rc2, install on a fresh primary partition with -x -v -f.

-- After reboot the machine going in loop on "Welcome procedure" for network need!!!

-- Start from DVD toh again.. Now you need a Wifi Usb Pen and relative OSX driver!

-- From Utility start the shell and go in /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/CoreServices/installer.app and press enter.

-- From the installer You can install the pkg of wifi pen driver....

-- reboot

-- Now You can finish the Welcome Procedure..

-- install EFI 5.2, and vanilla kernel...from an external monitor

-- Now you can upgrade to 10.5.1

-- install Natit.kext from Hackint0sh forum, the version fron 17/11

-- You are welcome... in a new and fresh original Hachint0sh...

For enabler the audio You can install azalia.pkg but there is an issue with touchpad audio controller.. every 40 seconds mute automatically..

The last driver we need is wifi 3945.. i hope jaolaui solution becam for 10.5.1 soon..

For broadcom nothing to do now!!

All,

I managed to install Toh, relatively easy. Hit F8 and choose save mode (basic VGA video). Use key "-x".

After installed ToH, than I folowed the instructions here (DigitMemo.com » HowTo: Install EFI patch and Use Unmodified OS X Kernel in Hackintosh). Note that there is an error in the instructions. Don't move your kernel before you applied the EFI patch.

After I successfuly installed EFI (up to version 6 now), I was able to install Apple patch 10.5.1. Work as a charm! If you don't have network you can use another computer to dounload it and than copy it to a USB pen drive. Plug in the pen drive and voila!

So far so good, but nothing else work for me. No sound, Network, WiFi.

This guy reported x3100 working on HP6710B.(http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=70282&st=140&gopid=518391entry518391)

I personaly don't think we have to remove/replace all AppleIntelMAX3100 stuff.

I don't see the WiFi, NIC, and sound working, altough some people reported full or partial success with all of them.

Will keep you posted!
