I was thinking about upgrading to 10.4.10, however, i´m not very sure if my hardware is going to work as it is on 10.4.9.

My current all working hardware is:

-- Intel GMA950 CI & QE OK

-- Intel Core Duo T2050 + SpeedStep

-- Sigmatel 9250.

Full details in my signature.

Please post anything you know about this hardware compatibility in 10.4.10

I upgrade my Mac OS X from 10.4.8 (JaS) to 10.4.10 (using koolkal 10.4.10 combo update for Intel SSE3)

What I can see, nothing much change. My Marvell Yukon 88E8038 fast ethernet and Atheros 5007EG still not detected/supported. I cannot use PCMCIA cardbus adapter anymore (don't need it anymore because my LevelOne wireless PCMCIA cardbus don't have a driver - RaLink didn't release universal driver). Everything else is working.

Acer Aspire 3680 (3684NWXMi):-

1) Intel Celeron M - detected correctly

2) Intel GMA950 - widescreen resolution with CI & QE

- external display also work

3) Realtek HD - still audio out only

4) LevelOne USB R73 wireless - usb device for wireless connectivity

5) Bluetooth - for dial-up to my Sony Ericsson K610i (also supported if using USB cable)

Problem I accounter when update 10.4.8 to 10.4.10:-

After reboot, I got "gray screen of death" with "Please restart" message.

Try to boot with "-s" but failed. Boot with "-v", I can see IOPCCardFamily is the cause of the problem.

Boot with JaS 10.4.8 DVD, open terminal and move IOPCCardFamily to another location.

Remove /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache (mounted under /Volumes/XXXX).

Reboot and system resume normally.

Option that I use when installing koolkal 10.4.10 combo Intel update:-

- MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.10 Intel only hpet

- kernel 8.10.1_kernel_SSE3_intel_hpet

- Patch and Drivers

-- VGA Drivers

--- Intel VGA drivers

--> Intel GMA950

-- Network Drivers

--> ionetworkingfamily

-- SATA & ATA Drivers

--> IOATAFamily + ich8 sata

-- Sound Drivers

--> Azalia Audio

-- read/write NTFS

If someone can make their Marvell Yukon 88E8038 Fast Ethernet to work, please tell me. Thank you. :blink:
