Bluejacky
Hi All I just successfully install 10.4.9 1.4i on my box, and now try to make all hardware work. ATIx1x00 pack seems does't work for the 2600XT. Any one has solution for 2600XT?
hackintom
We have no solution yet for the 2600, we need to put our hands on a new imac, see the kexts, and try some tweakings. I guess there will be one, soon.
Cyberdog !
On www.macfixit.com this Thursday, August 09 2007 @ 03:30 PM PDT iMac Software Update 1.0 appears to be graphics-releated Though Apple's cryptic release notes don't indicate so, it appears that iMac Software Update 1.0, which applies to the Mid-2007 iMacs released earlier this week, contains revisions to various graphics card-related components. Among the files modified by the update: /System/Library/Extensions * ATIRadeonX2000GLDriver.bundle * ATIRadeonX2000VADriver.bundle * ATIRadeonX2000GA.plugin * ATIRadeonX2000.kext * ATINDRV.kext /usr/libexec/oah/Shims * GLEngine.bundle So essentially, various files for driving the ATI Radeon X2000 card available for the new iMacs and an OpenGL-related bundle file were revised. It's still not clear, however, what graphics bugs were fixed or performance enhancements made. Backup and test ??? Dangerous ?? http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ima...reupdate10.html Laurent
Bluejacky
I found that the new iMac use "ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT" or "ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO" iMac GraphicCard Is that mean Mac should support 2600??

I have check the Apple Web, and I found the explain of this update: What’s New in this Version- This update provides important bug fixes and is recommended for 20-inch and 24-inch iMac models with 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8GHz processors. So I think this one not including the driver for 2600.

Stellair
Is that ATI 2600 HD PRO such a good card? Better than 7600GT? or 8xxx series?

CK Lee
have you tried to delete atindrv.kext but not atiradeonx2000.kext Yes, remove atindrv.kext and fix permission.
Bluejacky
Yes, remove atindrv.kext and fix permission. Did you get your card working?? I just back from the "grey screen", seems it does work for me or I did wrong. There are 6 files ATIRadeonX2000.Kext ATIRadeonX2000GLDDriver.bundle. ATIRadeonX2000VADriver.bundle ATIRadeonX2000GA.plugin ATINDRV.kext GLEngine.bundle I put first 4 in the "extensions" folder. According to the original pack, the last one should be put in "/usr/libexec/oah/shims/", but I can't find the path. BTW, in ATIRadeonX2000.Kext/info.plist , I can't find where to modify the VenderID and DeviceID.
