yo dude,

the space requirements are subjective to what you need... lets day for my case, i switch off all language translations as i only run my os in english... i off all printer drivers as i dont really have the need for it, and i remove all un-needed stuff... i installed X11, cos there is a need somewhere by crossover and open office in case u need them...

so therefore, my installation takes up 3.4Gb..... when u partition, leave 1Gb min for swap file, and leave a hell lot of space to install apps.... i recommend minimum of 10Gb partition to install OS X on....

Okay. Thanks =)

I'm probably going to use about 55 gigs though, because I have alot of stuff on my Windows partition that I don't really need, and this still gives me a leftover 15 gigs on that partition, but if need be I can uninstall a {censored}load of stuff.

  • 3 weeks later...

if you just want to test OsX 10Gb to 20Gb is enough.

80Gb to 160Gb is you want OsX to be your Desktop Computer

but if you realy want to have some fun with OsX, like i do,

use OsX for editing you'll need 250Gb and more(specialy if you are thinking on Editing Movies and so on)

so try my expl. have a 250Gb HD Sata for OsX and one 250Gb Firewire HD for backup to put old things

ooo....!!! and if you have other Os like Linux or Windows put them on other disks

(i've got a 160Gb IDE ATA133MHz for Vista Ultimate)
