Is there a chance that we will see with Leopard new possibilities to encode songs in AAC+ in a future iTunes?

Is there already a way to do this with a mac (encode a tune in AAC+ and read it with Quicktime?)

Any plug-in?

Give you opinions about AAC+ v2 Vs mp3 !

I checked wikipedia and I guess VLC and Songbird both allow AAC+ playback along with some other players. I think I'm gonna check out Songbird though, it looks like it has a lot of promise. I don't know if they will encode though.

The iPod still doesn't support the format, hopefully it won't be too long until an update. You could probably fit 2-3 times the amount of same-quality music on an iPod by compressing it further.
