Hello,

how did you evaluate the CPU temperature ?

Did you compare Bios CPU temperature ?

If you used a software like SpeedFan it's possible that it doesn't register a correct temp

75° C is a very high temp... :censored2:

To be sure you can read the temperatures directly from bios

hmm.... that wouldnt work... i have a Notebook (IMB t60)

and why should i?!? it only gets so high with mac ... on windows i can play Battlefield 2 or FarCry with a avg temp of 65C...

Is it possible that mac automaticly overklock my system?!? (thats not possible right...?)

... and i trust everest... its a good tool and get the temp also from the bios but under windows ;D

Sorry I forgot that you've a notebook

I'm running both OSX both WinXP on my PC but I don't find a real difference in temperatures.

I don't think that OSX automatically overclock your system.

To be sure you can look in System configuration or you can use Terminal

Did you change your FSB value at OSX boot ?

To reduce OSX temp you can try to enable speedstep with the new kernels (ACPIcputhrottle.kext etc)

Badly designed cooling system.

Aye, OS X doesn't seem to halt (C1/C1E) CPUs at idle on many machines, but that should give you a representation of how much heat would be generated when running at 100% CPU usage at any time, so the machine would probably also overheat and shut-down while running a game under Windows which pegged the CPU too. I suggest that if you can get it to shut off under windows with a high CPU usage app, like Intel's TAT or Orthos, you've got good grounds to complain to the manufacturer and demand a replacement.
