Hi, Ive tried exactly what you said, namely move iondrsupport.kext on the desktop, copy driver in extensions folder (after changing permissions, oterwise it wouldn't let me copy it), delete cache and reboot.... system never get to login screen, am I missing something?

Thanks a lot

I'm not sure whether you guys know it yet, the Broadcom Wireless is functioning flawlessly on Leopard. I removed the card from the TX1000 to my XPS M1330. Works right out of the box, damn wicked. My wired ethernet and Intel AGN 4965 is unsupported on Mac. You guys are damn lucky to have both interface supported. Although I'm unwilling to get my own TX1000 on Mac platform. If I do, I'm keep you guys posted on the findings. Rock On!

By the Way, that {censored} HP locked it's BIOS so meaning that you can't swap the card with another. It will not boot. Only certified HP cards can be installed.

Do you think it would make any difference if i purchased a HHD from another manufacturer? SSD's are comming down in price. Any thoughts or am i being a total noob?

No that would not matter. It is the hard drive controller that is the problem for these machines. That means no matter what hard drive you have, it uses the same controller (since it is part of the motherboard).

thanks for the informative thread.

I am geting my new tx1000z in about 1 week with these specs

AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-60 (2.0GHz / 1MB)

12.1" WXGA BrightView w/Integrated Touch-screen

2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Super Multi 8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support

NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 6150

802.11b/g WLAN and Bluetooth

6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

HP Imprint Finish + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam

I got it new on sale for $740 and i am hoping to triple boot windows xp tablet, ubuntu linux and hopefully leopard. i have experience using grub for this type of situation on my desktop machine.

could anyone reccomend a more current leopard installation dvd for the tx1000?

i am a bit confused by what seems like conflicting posts on the sata compatibilty. does it work? even if it is pio mode. can dma mode work? is it remotely stable?

it seems as if most of the other essential hardware will work fine.

thanks for any responses.

edit: I plan on beginning a guinea pig if no one responds and just jump in and try everything i can find and see what will work but was looking for any guidance some experience users could give me. thanks
