So, I downloaded tiger-x86 and created the file tiger-x86-flat.img. I then created a DL DVD which should work, but doesn't.

If I open the DVD through HFSExplorer it shows the main folder "tiger-x86" and a lot of subfolders like "dev", "library", "opt", "sbin" etc. which leads me to think that the DVD is ok.

I have created a partition for osx86 in the Fat32 system.

My mobo is 775DualVST, don't know if it there's a problem with that?

Oh, and after uncompressing the file besides the .img I also got floppy.flp and a couple of tiny files called tiger-x86 .nvram, .vmdk, .vmsd etc. Don't know if these should have been used for something?

Basically when trying to load the DVD I get a black screen with a cursor blinking in top left corner but after a few seconds it goes straight into XP. :)

Could it be something to do with my partitioning?

Do I need any "patching"? I find those guides difficult to grasp, ended up using this one as that actually made sense http://dilnalomo.googlepages.com/xposx04

Do I need to install a "bootselector" such as EasyBCD? I thought I could just boot from the DVD using F11 and selecting "boot from CD/DVD".

"Ditto" as in copy it across??? Or somehow "burn" that .img to the harddrive?

My partition is Fat32. How do I convert that to HFS+?

Jas or Uphuck. Don't worry about ditto. I don't know what it means and I've got OS X installed.

In terms of converting. Try making the partition into a FAT32 partition type in Windows. Then when you continue with the OS X installation and get to the Disk Utilities erase part format it to HFS+ Extended at that point.

Thanks. Another Londoner :(

I thought somehow it was possible (and necessary) to convert the partition to HFS+ from Windows in order for the installation to proceed but if that's not the case then I won't worry about that. I'll try with Uphuck and see if that takes me further in the process and then report back if there's still problems.
