Guest Ramm
Short answer - no. It would break your installation. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-412314 Share on other sites
HackBook Pro
is that because it replaces the kernel? What if I were to back up the kernel and then replace it, just like the 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 upgrade? ps. i have a gma950... Guest Ramm
That's why I said "Short Answer...". If you really wanted to, you could do that (there are guides somewhere). It would be a better idea to download someone's update, like PascalW's. tran.man48
Long answer would be because certain filesin the official combo are not patched to run on hackintosh. Like Ramm said, best to download hacked update like PascalW's. Just remember to backup before going about it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-412327 Share on other sites
e-rick
It kinda depends on your hardware how difficult this is... If you've got a 945s chipset with a c2d you only need to replace the kernel and place dsmos.kext after installation and you're good to go.. (at least.. I was) Other setups may require AppleAPIC, AppleACPIPlatform and AppleSMBios to be replaced by the older ones. If you want to be on the safe side you should use PascalW' s update though (also a good way to get the 10410 kernel) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-412420 Share on other sites
re-book
If you want to be on the safe side you should use PascalW' s I have updated with PascalW's updater. Smooth, no problems. I did install Natit directly after the setup ( without reboot first) It feels faster than before (10.4.9) do you know why? I have a P4(Netburst) 3GHz and i915. My CPU is recognized as core solo now with 2,99 GHz. Before it was Pentium4 with 4,3 GHz re-book Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-412446 Share on other sites

Thanx - re-book. Yep... both are fine to install, no need to back up anything As a side note, if you use an external USB hard drive remember to restore a IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorgeClass.kext from 10.4.9. Theres a problem with the kexts in 10.4.10 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-412643 Share on other sites

Proteo
Hello. After installing Uphuck's 10.4.9i on an old computer (not the one in my sig) I want to update it to 10.4.10. Tthe CPU/Mobo (P4 and Bisotar P4800M something) don't support HPET, however do support SS3 and NX. Can I install PascalW's Intel 10.4.10 updater? It clearly says it needs an HPET enabled system. What are my options here? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57736-update-to-10410/#findComment-413272 Share on other sites
