GBK.Xscape
Now that I have had my Macbook Pro for over 6 months now and have installed many applications my boot time on my OSX Side of things is worse off than my boot time for my Vista Side of the the computer. i was wondering if there is anything i could do, besides upgrading ram which i only have 1 GB of, that would improve my startup times. I know stopping all programs from launching on boot would help but is there something else i could do to help speed up my boot times? Korrupted
Try looking up Onyx and running its optimization scripts. Perhaps that'll help? Also try repairing permissions, that could be a factor as well. You never know. OSXtasy
get Diskwarrior and run it. Worth every penny for rebulding directories and basically defragging, plus clears up any file system errors. macprodan
run onyx and delete caches and do optimization. Delete any startup items that are no longer used. try an app called lingon as well and see if any services are running that you do not need or use, be careful with this one doh. remove kext cache so it rebuilds it at boot up. update prebindings using mac pilot. hold opt-command + P + R at boot and wait three chimes... Ill ad more as I can think of it... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57374-boot-times/#findComment-410693 Share on other sites
