that guide is for installing 10.4.9 but the install steps involve first installing 10.4.8?? is there a reason installing 10.4.9 right off the bat wont' work?

also, i am planning on installing it on this computer which is yet to be released:

uhhh

i think it runs at around 900mhz which i thought would be fine for osx

also, the laptop comes in 4, 8, and 16 gig versions

It's about the chipset, not the CPU. The CPU only needs to handle certain instruction sets, which for the most part stay the same from CPU to CPU.
