I guess I am used to Windows or something, but how exactly to go around to having the windows to take up the full screen, I know to a point it can some what look fullscreen-ish, but the dock always seem to take up valuable place, but I can't remove that because it's pretty much the task bar of mac osx.

So basically, is the osx optimized for bigger displays or something? BEcause I have a 19" lcd display and everything seems to cramped in...

You dont have to remove the dock completely, you could have it so that it only appears when the curser is touching the very bottom of the screen so it doesn't always get in your way, and you could always just make it smaller, or make it smaller and turn magnification on so you can see the icons better when you hover over them.
