badlydrawn Posted July 9, 2007 Share Posted July 9, 2007 Okay, so it was my birthday yesterday and I received funds for a laptop so I can do my graphic design and web work throughout college. I will be purchasing a MPB, the lowest end, 15 inch one with the 128 MB of RAM on the video card. Anyways, I'm a little bit hesitant to purchase anytime soon because I know that Leopard is coming out in October, and I fear that maybe they will also release new MBPs at the same time. So my question is, should I wait it out until Leopard? I'm not too concerned with the OS, but I am scared of that fact that if I purchase the MBP now, that in October, Apple with release a new MBP with BETTER or UPGRADED HARDWARE for the same price I payed for my Santa Rosa MPB. Anyways, if anybody can help me out with my dilemma and offer suggestions or their own personal thoughts and feelings, I will be greatly appreciative! Thanks! If you just gotta have a mac (I suggest you don't get one tho), wait for a refurb santa rosa until about august/sept timeframe. At least you know it has (supposedly) been looked over at least once (since I dont think Apple really does Q/A in the design or build stage), and hopefully it's in the proper shape it should have been in when it was originally sold.
