I am trying to build a hackintosh and need help choosing a motherboard. The choices are:

1. Intel 975XBX2

2. Intel DP35DP

The processor will be Core 2 Quad Q6600, the video GF6600GTS and the HDD Seagate 7200.10.

This system will be mainly used for photo processing (Photoshop, Aperture, Lightroom), but i also need some working audio and wokring AHCI SATA.

The second choice for mobo looks to me better, but i couldn't find any helpful information how the OSX works on it, so any comments and suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

The Intel 975XBX2 (Bad Axe 2), is an excellent board, absolutely compatible with OS X and very stable.

I am using a Bad Axe 1 myself and waiting for a Bad Axe 2 which I recently bought.

I'm in the market for a new board too. A BIOS update on my Bad Axe 2 tonight cost me almost an hour of going back through and figuring out why my overclock that was great previously was now failing. Trying to pull that tiny ass jumper is a HUGE pain and I spent a large amount of time fiddling with it until I got it seated right. VERY POOR POSITIONING, INTEL!

Anyway, since I'm in the market for a new processor, I think this board is gonna have to go because I know I won't be able to max out an overclock on it. The maximum stable speed I seem to be able to achieve with my 6300 in this board is 2.8GHz, which is an almost unheard of low.

Not only that but not a single one of the BIOS revisions has worked with the "control CPU fan" setting... I turn it to disabled and it STILL clocks the fan down to near silent and it never fully speeds up to 100% again, even if I allow it to control it! >_<
