I have a funny feeling this has to do with the graphics card, since the MacBook holds the cheapest and least powerful graphics card used in a mac to date, in relation to the current performance trend.

I try to use the background removal feature, it asks me to step out of the frame, says "background detected", then crashes. This happens in both iChat and Photobooth.

Suggestions? Solutions? S-words?

just so you know you're not alone, I have seen it do the same thing on a MacBook core duo

Thank goodness. Any thoughts on setting it straight?

it won't work with intergrated graphics cards...and works better the higher graphics card you have. (way better on macbook pro with the 256 than the 128) But even if it is working it is pretty bugger and you have to have a pretty "clear-of-anything" background to work with. It seems to have major problems with depth, it would rather a white wall than a white wall with a shelving unit and a desk, with some pictures hanging. Hopefully it gets cleaned up a bit in a later (final?) build
