are you using any drives on the jmicron controller?

Actually I'm using the JMicron controller on my P35-DS3R, connected to an extra HDD and an optical drive (writer). When I get my mobo replacement, I'll do some test with the JMicron kext disabled / or disabled in BIOS.

I got the problem fix!!

I am using asus p5b deluxe and got the problem same as you guys.

After plug out all of PCI cards installed (PCI USB,LAN) and disable the Jmicron IDE/SATA controller, the system is fully stable till now.

Running Corsair xms 1gb x2, kingstone value 2gb x2

rgb, I didn't see your message, you nailed it ! JMicron is indeed the culprit. Running fully stable with 4Gb of RAM. Thank you very much! :)

I've set the Gigabyte SATA controller(Jmicron) of my 965p-DQ6 to AHCI mode, removed AppleVIAATA.kext, and, now my Leopard 9a528b installation works fine with 4GB of RAM installed. I have no IDE drives installed, though. At least I got those purple SATA ports working since my ICH8R SATA ports are set to RAID. I could get this recognized as well, but It'll just be recognized as an AHCI drive, not a drive array. ;)
