wood_e
Ok here's the background info: eMachines T3612 Intel 945G chipset GMA 950 1.5GB RAM SATA recognized and working Now I installed with JaS 10.4.8 DVD with semthex 8.8.1 kernel I formatted my WD 120GB SATA HD to HFS+ journaized Install went fine but upon reboot it won't boot. I want this computer to be an OSX only machine so I don't need to dual boot. I assume I need a bootloader but which? How do I install it? Thanks! Headrush69
What exactly happens when you boot? Flashing underscore? Loads kernel and stop? Anything?
wood_e
No bootable device found error Kind of like when you don't have a HD hooked up and no bootable drives. No loading of anything on the HD at all. Like I said... should it boot without a bootloader?
carny
same prob here but i can only boot with my dvd. u need to set the mac boot partition active in terminal i guess.
Headrush69
Did you make sure when you partitioned the Volume you picked MBR in options and not Apple GUID which is the default?
wood_e
I set the mac partition active using: Use osx86 dvd then boot, after a welcome screen Click 'Utility" menu then choose terminal, I Typed: mount -a (enter) fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 (enter) print (enter) f 1 (enter) quit reboot edit: I did not do the MBR selection - I checked around disk utility after booting with my DVD and partitioned the drive into 2 since it uses MBR - I had 1 GUID partition. Hopefully this will work.... reinstalling now
