gtyson27
OK, I've burnt the .dmg file on to DVD on a Windows PC but when it comes to installing my iBook G4 just restarts. Have tried holding down 'c' on startup but just get a flashing finder icon. Please help! Thank you in advance!
Headrush69
The dmg format is a complete DVD image and needs to be burnt in OS X. The other option is to find a tool to convert the DMG to ISO in Windows. Is that what you did or did you just burn that file onto a DVD?
gtyson27
I just burnt the .dmg to DVD, so what should I use to convert it to ISO on my pC? Would using DMG2ISO work? Then should I just burn this ISO to DVD and then it will install? Thanks again
skyhighmac
Yeah, though I'd see if you could find your original install disks, then those would work. If not, find a friend with a mac because DMG2ISO isn't perfect. You'll have a much higher success rate by burning it with a mac.
A Nonny Moose
Hold down the option key as you start up and see if the disc is even readable under the startup manager.
