Can someone send me a torrent invitation (don't care where)? I promise to seed when I get it.

Anyhow...

  • The disk is not watermarked, Apple would have to master each disk individually.
    • To confirm this, get the md5 checksum from two, or more, disks and compare the.

    [*]The Build number is 9A466.

[*]Someone with a real disk suggested it was bigger then 5.39 GB.

    • Build 9A410 was 5.39 GB.
    • Build 9A377a was 5.38 GB.
    • Build 9A343 was 5.13 GB.
    • Build 9A321 was 5.14 GB.
    • Build 9A303 was 4.73 GB.
    • Build 9A241 was 4.27 GB.

[*]Here is a crash trace from 9A466: http://trac.adiumx.com/attachment/ticket/7...0955_Fido.crash

[*]IRC... Don't go to the macrumors irc channel, they're not having any of it.

[*]This might be it, but my hunch is it isn't (and I'm not going to download it): http://www.fullreleases.com/NewMembers/pre...466+%2806-07%29

MOD EDIT: The link there is total {censored} - see my post two below - munky

that last link is definitely NOT it. that crappy site takes whatever you search for and turns it into likely-looking (but completely bollocks) downloads. to what end, i dont know.

here's an example: http://www.fullreleases.com/NewMembers/pre...p;submit=Search

That link is bogus.. its some {censored} to get you to sign up.. and I would bet 1000:1 that its just bullsh :wallbash:

Hehe, nasty example, munky.

Thank you for the very thorough summary, nbritton!. It will definitely come in handy.

When it comes to torrent sites, I think I would recommend The Pirate Bay as a place to upload it. They have a history of dealing with Apple (e-mail, response) and the uploaded torrent wouldn't be connected to your username in the same way it would with ratio-based sites.

I'd be willing to bet we won't see it tonight, or for at least the next week or two. People are freaking out, and apple is making sure that when it gets posted, it gets taken down. They want to protect this one. If you think about it, Microsoft should have acted like this a long time ago, back when their company was gaining steam. If Apple flexes its muscles then maybe they won't get walked all over in the coming years as they continue to grow their company. Its quite a good plan on their part.

Apple if your watching.. want to give me a job in marketing?

Apple is watching!!! :wallbash::):)

Dear Apple Employees,

Please send a link of this forum to Steve Jobs and tell him how each of us little people (non-developers) would like to give Leopard a spin as well, even if you update it afterwards and don't give us the updates, as long as we can play with the release that was shown at WWDC '07 we will be happy!

Thank You
