erbic
Canonical has released the first alpha of the next version of Ubuntu. This one, version 7.10, will be named "Gutsy Gibbon". Kubuntu and Xubuntu versions have been released as well. Where the hell do they get these names??? Features include: GNOME updated to 2.19.2 New 2.6.22 kernel New power management and cooling scheme to keep our boxes/laptops from melting (yay!) Lots of new drivers Better failure modes/bug reporting Another big merge of apps and such from Debian etc... I'm too lazy to come up with more list items... go read for yourselves. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/GutsyGibbon/Tribe1 Trying to decide whether or not to install this on my MBP. If ATI's FGLRX display driver still works like it did in Feisty, I'll consider doing it. Otherwise, I won't exactly have a GUI....
