Hey guys,

I am running 10.4.6 on my vaio and I want to upgrade to 10.4.8 so I can use Adobe CS3. Will I have to reformat or can I just pop the 10.4.8 disk in and have it update, but keep my files and settings?

Thanks!

I've been wanting to do the same thing, but when I put in the 10.4.8 disk, it wouldn't let me upgrade my volume, I had to reformat it as a Journaled partition and then install the 10.4.8.

So, unless it was just my copy, I think you're going to have to lose everything, which really sucks.

Hey Guys :P

Here is a detailed forum discussion. Basically, do you have SSE3 intel? Then you should be able to upgrade to 10.4.8 without too much problem. If you have another type, don't worry, it can be done...

Please note that is a manual method. One automatic method you can try that worked well for me, is EGWAN's installer. This definitely works well if you have an intel sse3 system (like mine)
