  1. Every once in a while my internet on osx will stop working. This happened with my Jas install and now it is still happening with my uphuck install. My USB Wireless Utility will still pickup the linksys and have good signal, but no internet. Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried re-installing the Ralink utility and repaired disk permissions and nothing has gotten my internet back. I have to re-install osx about every other month and I was hopping that there was an easier way around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  2. Well, I figured out my problem. You can't upgrade.. has to be installed on a clean drive. Universal 3 Kernal worked. My new problem is.. My USB wireless stick does not work anymore. It recognizes the connection and the signal is good, but no internet when I open safari or firefox. Any ideas? Edit: oh yeah, it is a Belkin USB Stick (Ralink chipset)
  3. hey elgrullo420, I have a Centrino Duo.. so my settings might be similar. What Kernal and Patches did you apply? Thanks
  4. Mine gives me a "error during install.. please try reinstalling" or whatever everytime. I was wondering if you guys might be able to rule out some possible issues? My computer is a Sony Vaio VGN-FE660G (I believe it only has SSE2 and not SSE3, but not entirely sure) Currently, I am running JAS osx86 10.4.6 1) I download uphuck from isohunt, but the tracker URL said it was coming from Demonoid 2) I believe I have tried every kernal (except AMD ones). So, would the patches have an effect on the install? 3) I am upgrading rather than doing a clean install in hopes of keeping my settings, so I thought this might be the problem, but I am not sure. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  5. I burned 10.4.8 to a disk and popped it in. It looked like it was working fine at first. The grey screen with the apple logo and loader was up there for a while.. and then it just goes black. I have burned multiple disks, but they have all done the same thing. My laptop is a sony vaio (intel). I am currently running 10.4.6. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  6. Upgrade from .6 to .8

Hey guys, I am running 10.4.6 on my vaio and I want to upgrade to 10.4.8 so I can use Adobe CS3. Will I have to reformat or can I just pop the 10.4.8 disk in and have it update, but keep my files and settings? Thanks!
  7. osx had been running fine on my Vaio for quite some time now and the other day it just stopped booting correctly. It gives me a series of disk0s3: I/O errors then after a long time it brings up the blue screen .. sometimes with a cursor and after another long period of time it just goes black with the white rectangle in the upper lefthand corner. any ideas?
