Hi,

I did not managed it, to get dual monitor support, but I noticed some interesting things. Maybe we could try

to enable it. For testing, I used two graphic-devices, to see what happens.

Now, I have an ATI x300 in my PCIe slot, and for testing, I additionally put a Matrox Millenium in my PCI slot.

next thing i did is connected one TFT diplay on each graphic-card. I also connected a cable to the TV-Out on

my ATI.

In the Bios, I set the PCIe graphics-device (ATI x300) to primary.

As a result, in windows XP, it does recognize three available monitors connected to my ATI X300. (Two TFT

plus the TV-OUT) The drivers for the Matrox are not installed there.

In OSX, it tries to load the AtiTVOut.kext at system startup, but it can't load it correct. Interesting thing is,

that OSX does recognize my two devices, and it shows me two monitors in the "about this mac" menue.

However, I am still unable to select more than one monitor in the system preferences, because it just shows

me one monitor. wtf.

So I thought it's maybe because my monitor is not a mac-screen. I installed the program DisplayConfigX, to

make a file for my TFT. You can set the resolution, frequencies everything there, and it is working, but still no

dual monitor output. :(

Now I am a little stucked on this, maybe we can help each other to find a working solution.

The big Question would be, if it is a driver problem (unsupported) or if it is just a little plist hack or a

boolean=true or whatever. If you know more about this, or if you have dual monitor working on your onboard

Intel perhaps, and you see what kexts are loaded, or if you have any Idea :D please post it.

Hello, can you tell us more about this program. Because I have try it to but it screw up my Osx totaly... It means reinstall :(

My ati card works to (ati fire gl z1) and like you I would like to have duals screen, I have seen in windows that my ati card in Windows is divided in two card with a Device ID different (4147and 4167). I 've tried to put the two ID in the kext but it's change anithing...

I'm not a coder and more like a nob but I thinkfor me it's time to learn :(

PS: Excuse me for my aproximate english

its not supported....YET...atleast in the ati kexts.....the gma900 works quite nicely =) i have my notebook able to scroll accross a pc monitor to my lcd or an hdtv to my lcd.....not mirroring, 2 separate displays, cant get it to output to all three tho(not that i would need it but it would be fun just to say i can, lol)

Ah, yes, that happens, when you do not enter the correct specs for your display. the khz value is very important, especially if you have TFT monitor, then set it to 60.

You can also easily undo all settings if it does not boot anymore.

boot up your osx, at login type F8. then boot -s. After that, just enterthe following line in the commandline and reboot.

* mount -uw /

* rm /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-756e6b6e/DisplayProductID-717

to be sure, compare it with the line that the program shows in the Install section (the red line)

<snip>

I also noticed, that my ati device is recognized as two devices in windows :) But also, no effect here :(
