Kurto2021
I bought this particular network card because the HCL says that it works natively but I cannot seem to get it to work. I installed 10.4.8 then installed the Belkin drivers that came with the card. When I go to my network preferences I don't have any cards showing up. Any ideas what I can do? Denicio
I have the exact same card, works after installation of JaS 10.4.8 or uphuck 10.4.9. Are you sure your Motherboard's PCI are working ok? Kurto2021
I am 100% sure they are... I installed vista and although it was a pain in the ass I was able to get it to install. Did you have to do anything in order to get it to work. I was having issues at first under windows but I turned on PCI plug and play in the bios and it was all good. I am using an Asus P5LVM-1394. This was the second Mac I was setting up and I originally purchased a FA311 and followed the exact same steps as I had in the past but couldn't get it to work. I think the problem might have been since PCI plug and play was turned off....I really don't feel like taking this Belkin back at this point in time. On a side note when I type in. kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleF5D5000.kext it tells me that it is not valid. Denicio
This is really strange since Vista as well recognizes natively this Network Card... Maybe there are several versions of this card? Revisions? My Part Number on the bottom of the box reads: F5D5000y And the box has WinXP & MacOS-X logo's on it. Anyway, if you are about to return the card to the dealer, just buy one with a Realtek8139 chip on it. You can't go wrong with this one, and they are very common.
