I have an older p4 2.0 ghz (sse2) compaq evo 512megs running 10.4.1.

I did the pesuedo upgrade to 10.4.3 (itunes, safari, etc)

The machine runs nice, no crashing, itunes works, safari is fast "with flash".

Itunes syncs with my ipod. My printer works fine. Iphoto works.

Should I try and do a full new install of 10.4.3? I see so many posts of people having problems

with it. My only problem is that my monitor does not turn off when osx goes into sleep.

I have read that 10.4.3 still will not fix that problem. Oh yea preview for pics does not work either, niether does windows media player. so I use a free ware program called "jview" for looking at jpgs and that works just fine.

I even have vlc working so I can play dvd's, not that I do anyway.

Like I said eveything else seems to work fine. I am not sure what I will gain by going to 10.4.3.

Let me know

Thanks

Hey guy... it seems you have the same as myself.. an EVO N610C. It works really fine with 10.4.1 and I was able to have wireless to work with a Belkin pcmcia card too. I'm seeing all the stuff about 4.3 but I'm really reluctant to upgrade... at least I will lose wifi and get artifacts on screen (now my Radeon 7500 works fine.. OK no QE or CI, but my eyes don't suffer..). My suggestion: wait....and enjoy with your 10.4.1.

Ciao.

Hello .. i'm new to OSX on INTEL ..sitting in front of a Compaq Evo N610c.

Is OSX really working on that notebook. Does it run on a interal partition

or do i have to boot from external USB disk (which seems to make some

problems on my machine i think)

Sorry, for the lame questions but i'm just happy to have a stable Win2k

beside WinXP up and running which took me quite some time.

Any hints or links would be very nice.

Niclas
